All made from exotic hardwoods, each bottle has a special coating to give it a long-lasting, heat, impact, alcohol and solvent resistant finish. If the bottle gets oily or grubby finger prints on it - just wipe it! Even the personalised wine label is resistant to dirt and grease.
The red claret-shaped bottle is made from a combination of Ebony and African Sapele wood.
The cork and foil have been turned from Ebony and acts as the twist mechanism for the grinder. Ebony is one of the most intensely black woods known, extremely hard wearing and polishes to a beautiful gloss finish.
The main body of the bottle has been turned from Sapele which is a large African tree ranging from Sierra Leone to Angola and eastward through the Congo to Uganda. Sapele is a reddish-brown wood that in many ways is very similar to Mahogany.
The white wine bottle has an ebony top and an Ash body which has been turned from European Ash and sometimes referred to as Olive Ash due to its dark streaks in the grain and when polished gives an outstanding gold gloss finish.
Ash is very strong but elastic. Extensively used for making bows, tool handles, quality wooden baseball bats, and other uses demanding high strength and resilience.
Also crafted from Ash, the main body of the bottle is ebonised and then gilded to give the grain a beautiful gold finish. A special finish for a special occasion and a perfect wine gift.
